A beautiful smile begins with harmony, and quality treatment begins with accurate diagnosis.

I am an orthodontist with 17 years of clinical experience. For me, orthodontics is not simply about creating an aesthetically pleasing smile, but also about restoring harmony within the dentofacial system, achieving proper function, and maintaining long-term treatment stability.

My education, completed with distinction at both undergraduate and residency levels, laid the foundation for my professional career. Today, I combine in-depth knowledge, clinical experience, modern technologies, and an individualized approach to every patient.

My practice is built on personalized diagnostics, evidence-based clinical decisions, and meticulous attention to detail. I view the smile as part of an integrated functional system in which aesthetics, occlusion, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) function must be considered together.

My goal is not simply to straighten teeth, but to establish the conditions for harmonious function, natural aesthetics, and stable results for years to come.

My Key Areas of Specialization

1. Pediatric Orthodontics

Early diagnosis and appliance-based correction of malocclusion, taking into account the growth and development of the dentofacial system.

Treatment aims to correct bite discrepancies, support proper jaw development, expand the dental arches when clinically indicated, and address abnormalities that may affect the formation of the permanent bite.

Why Is an Early Orthodontic Assessment Important?

An early examination can help identify:

  • Abnormal jaw development.

  • Insufficient space for permanent teeth.

  • Improper tooth positioning.

  • Functional or harmful oral habits that may affect the bite.

An individualized approach based on the child's age and stage of growth allows dentofacial abnormalities to be addressed at the appropriate time, guides jaw development, and establishes the foundation for a harmonious smile and proper oral function.

2. Orthodontic Treatment with Braces

Comprehensive correction of tooth alignment and bite relationships to achieve functional and aesthetic harmony.

I use German self-ligating Damon braces, as well as other German and American orthodontic bracket systems, selecting the most appropriate option according to each patient's clinical needs.

Damon Braces

Damon is a self-ligating bracket system that secures the orthodontic archwire using a specialized built-in mechanism, without conventional elastic or metal ligatures. This design can reduce friction and allows the orthodontist to control tooth movement according to the treatment plan.

Potential advantages include:

  • A streamlined bracket design and controlled orthodontic forces.

  • Convenient oral hygiene compared with some conventional systems.

  • Precise management of tooth movement.

  • Both metal and aesthetic bracket options.

  • Fewer auxiliary ligatures than in traditional bracket systems.

Damon braces can be used to treat various tooth-positioning and bite problems. Suitability, expected treatment duration, and prognosis are determined following a comprehensive diagnostic assessment.

Successful treatment depends not only on the selected braces, but also on accurate treatment planning, the orthodontist's expertise, and the patient's adherence to recommendations.

3. Orthodontic Treatment with Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are a modern orthodontic treatment method that uses individually manufactured transparent trays to gradually move teeth into their planned positions. They combine precision, aesthetics, and comfort.

In my practice, I use the German HealthySmile aligner system and am also a licensed Invisalign provider.

I perform comprehensive diagnostics, digital treatment planning, and orthodontic treatment using clear aligners to correct tooth positions, dental arch form, and occlusal relationships.

Each treatment plan is individually developed, taking into account the patient's anatomical characteristics, functional parameters, and aesthetic expectations.

Advantages of Clear Aligners

  • Virtually invisible when speaking or smiling.

  • Smooth surfaces that generally cause less irritation to the oral soft tissues.

  • Fewer dietary restrictions compared with fixed braces, although aligners must be removed before eating and drinking anything other than water.

  • Convenient toothbrushing and flossing because the aligners are removable.

  • Treatment planning supported by digital technologies.

  • The possibility of remote monitoring in selected cases, depending on clinical needs and the treatment protocol.

Clear aligners are not suitable for every clinical situation. Certain tooth movements may require attachments, auxiliary techniques, or conventional braces. Treatment selection should therefore be based primarily on comprehensive diagnostics rather than aesthetic preferences alone.

For successful results, patients must wear their aligners for the prescribed number of hours each day and attend follow-up appointments as recommended.

4. Gnathology and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction

Why Is It Important to Assess Jaw Position and TMJ Function Before Orthodontic Treatment?

Successful orthodontic treatment begins with more than straightening teeth. It requires a comprehensive assessment of the lower jaw's position and the condition and function of the temporomandibular joints (TMJs).

When TMJ dysfunction or an unstable mandibular position is suspected, orthodontic treatment may require preliminary functional diagnostics and stabilization.

If these factors are not adequately considered, the dental arches may be aligned in a position that does not correspond to the optimal functional state of the dentofacial system. If the mandibular position subsequently changes, additional bite correction or further orthodontic treatment may be necessary.

Our goal is therefore not simply to align the teeth, but to promote harmonious interaction between the teeth, masticatory muscles, and temporomandibular joints.

Common Signs and Symptoms of TMJ Dysfunction

  • Pain around the temporomandibular joint, ear, temple, or cheek.

  • Clicking, popping, or other sounds when opening or closing the mouth.

  • Limited or painful mouth opening.

  • Deviation or displacement of the lower jaw during opening or closing.

  • Episodes of jaw locking or difficulty closing the mouth.

  • Tension or tenderness in the masticatory muscles.

  • Headaches, particularly in the temple region.

  • Fatigue in the chewing muscles, especially after eating.

  • Bruxism, teeth clenching, and excessive tooth wear.

  • A perceived change in the bite or an unstable feeling when the teeth come together.

  • Ear pain or discomfort without an apparent ear, nose, or throat cause.

Important: Symptoms may occur individually or in combination. Clicking alone does not necessarily indicate a disorder. Diagnosis is established through clinical examination and, when indicated, additional instrumental investigations.

When clinically appropriate, we perform functional diagnostics, including axiography, and determine the treatment sequence on an individual basis. Depending on the clinical situation, functional therapy may precede orthodontic treatment, or both stages may be planned together.

This comprehensive approach can help improve treatment predictability, avoid unjustified tooth movements, and support an aesthetically pleasing, functional, and stable outcome.

We use modern functional diagnostic methods, including axiography, and individually prescribed splint therapy when indicated. These methods may help manage functional disturbances, alleviate symptoms such as clicking, discomfort, pain, and muscle tension, and support more harmonious function of the dentofacial system.

5. Axiography — Diagnostic Assessment of Mandibular Movement

A healthy, functional bite depends not only on tooth position, but also on the coordinated function of the temporomandibular joints, masticatory muscles, and lower jaw.

Axiography records and analyzes the trajectories of mandibular movement and the movement of the condyles. The examination provides additional information about functional characteristics and can support diagnostic assessment during treatment planning.

When Can Axiography Be Useful?

  • When functional joint disturbances are suspected.

  • In cases involving pain, discomfort, or restricted mandibular movement.

  • During complex orthodontic treatment planning.

  • When planning comprehensive dental rehabilitation.

  • When assessment of the entire dentofacial system, rather than tooth position alone, is important.

Axiography does not replace a clinical examination and is not a standalone diagnostic method. Its findings are interpreted alongside the patient's symptoms, clinical examination, and other relevant diagnostic information.
